Interesting and high-quality matches have already been played in the basic groups. The rivalry between the clubs and the players was reflected in the individual performances of the players, while one of the most anticipated matches was the battles between the league winner in flag football (Nitra Knights, Wakanda Knights) and the clubs from Bratislava, Istropolis Invincibles and Sadists of Janko Kra. Several fans also enjoyed the games of traditional Slovakian club Zvolen Patriots, who returned to Slovakia’s football map after a long hiatus.

As expected, the winners of the base groups were the Nitra Knights players respectively. Wakanda Knights. In the “A” group, the Instropolis Invincibles players, who took second place, gave an excellent second place. Group “B” offered a more balanced course, smaller differences in the final score, and after the winner of the Wakanda Knights group, the Tumbili players, led by QB Bratislava Monarchs, Marek Pavlovič, took the second promotion place.

The first semi-final between Nitra Knights and Tumbili only brought an even course in the first half. The Tumbili players were gradually exhausted after the difficult group, which the Knights were able to quickly use to their advantage and bring the match to a winning end.

The second semi-final was played between Wakanda Knights and Istropolis Invincibles, and the final result and who advanced to the final was decided in the final seconds. The Invincibles showed a focused, focused performance in the first half that the Wakanda players couldn’t reciprocate and lost the first half.

In the second company the score turned slightly, neither team wanted to make a fundamental mistake that would mean a loss. The battle for every inch of the field ultimately brought luck to Wakanda’s players, who enjoyed the win by a narrow margin. In the FLAG FOOTBALL final on the beach, we could look forward to last year’s repeat between Nitra Knights and Wakanda Knights.

Tumbili and Invincibles battled for third place. Before the game, Bratislava’s players had greater opportunities, which was eventually confirmed. The reduced number of players and match fatigue had a significant impact on Tumbili’s performance and they succumbed to the opponent.

The final match, a repeat of last year and a battle between the teams from Zobor. Wakanda as defending champion did not come into the game at all. Several errors ensured that the opponent quickly took the lead, which he did not relinquish. Nitra Knights players kept their hands on tight throughout the match, showing multiple stunning plays, superb defense and deservedly recuperating the opponent’s 2021 loss and deservedly winning the title.

The organizers are delighted with the great interest in the event. Peter Német, the organizer of the tournament, summed up his feelings right after the final:

“We are very pleased that we can also consider the second year of FLAG FOOTBALL on the beach a success, despite the weather, which was radically different from last year. The initial rainy and cloudy weather calmed down and finally suited the players. We are delighted with the interest the event is generating We already have comments and questions about the next edition, not only from players but also from our partners and sponsors. In particular, this year I would like to thank the Autonomous Region of Bratislava and the Mayor of Bratislava Petržalka Municipality, Ján Hrček, who not only supported us financially, but also took on the patronage of the event. I must emphasize the dedication and determination of the players and teams, who have shown that succeeding at this event is not just another trophy to add to the number, but a hard-fought and prestigious award that no one will take from them next year .”
